Static Grounding Solutions

Protecting your company against fire and explosion risks starts with eliminating possible ignition sources. Static electricity is an ever-present and significant ignition risk for operations conducted in flammable, combustible and potentially explosive atmospheres.

The uncontrolled buildup and discharge of electrostatic sparks must be avoided in EX / HAZLOC environments to prevent ignitions that could harm people and damage plant equipment, products and the environment. Integral Energy offers you the complete Newson Gale’s wide range of static grounding and bonding systems, equipment and accessories that control and eliminate these ignition risks, creating a safer and more productive work environment.

EARTH-RITE

Wherever there is a real danger of conductive plant equipment and materials accumulating static charge within flammable and combustible atmospheres, Newson Gale’s range of Earth-Rite Static Ground Monitoring & Interlock Systems provide added operational safety for critical hazardous area processing and handling operations.

Tank Truck and Railcar flammable product transfer.

Filling, mixing and blending of flammable / combustible materials in Drums, IBCs, Totes, Portable Containers and Mobile Tanks.

Multiple Grounding of potentially isolated conductive components of manufacturing and processing systems.

Filling or discharging Type C FIBCs and static dissipative plastic drums in flammable or combustible atmospheres.

Monitoring fixed Tanks and Vessels in storage and distribution facilities. Earth-Rite static grounding & interlock systems enable organisations to clearly demonstrate international “Best Practice”, compliance with IEC 60079-32; NFPA77; API RP 2003 and other world-wide technical standards and codes of practice governing the control of static electricity in hazardous areas.

BOND-RITE

For applications where control switches or PLCs are not available for output contacts, the Bond-Rite range is the best solution for maximising the safety of processes generating static in hazardous locations.

Encouraging operators to ground equipment before the process is initiated, a bright green LED flashes when it detects a low resistance connection to the equipment.

Once connected, the Bond-Rite continuously monitors the ‘ground loop’ between the potentially charged equipment and designated ground point.

If the connection to equipment or grounded points are compromised, the LED will stop flashing, warning operator of a potential static hazard.

The Bond-Rite range has been adapted for processes that require short term grounding to processes where customers prefer 24/7 indication.

All Bond-Rite systems enable hazardous area operators demonstrate best practice compliance with IEC 60079-32 and NFPA 77.

CEN-STAT

The Cen-Stat range of clamps, cables and reels are single circuit applications that rely on high strength mechanical circuits to dissipate static electricity from potentially charged equipment.
Cen-Stat clamps are specially designed to dissipate static electricity from potentially charged equipment and are subjected to rigorous FM & ATEX testing standards

In some cases, hazardous area operators rely on small clips and welding clamps to ground equipment without any guarantee they are penetrating hardened product deposits, rust or paint. To mitigate against this uncertainty Cen-Stat clamps are fitted with a pair of tungsten carbide tips to bite through connection inhibitors and achieve direct electrical contact to potentially charged equipment. The stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistant benefits and is capable of working in tough industrial environments.
The clamps can be supplied with static dissipative Hytrel coated retractable spiral cable or static discharge reels.

MOBILE SOLUTIONS

Newson Gale manufactures and supplies an innovative range of mobile grounding solutions including a patented truck mountable ground verification system, a portable hose continuity tester and many other accessories essential to providing grounding protection for trucks and personnel operating in locations where standard grounding systems are not available to provide protection from electrostatic ignition hazard

Applications:

Truck mounted static grounding verification for trucks operating in environments and locations where rack mounted grounding systems are not available to ground the truck.

Portable hose continuity tester for ensuring hoses used in the field are not at risk of statics sparks due isolated metal couplings, bonding wires and metal helixes.

Ground rod kit for locations where buried man-made structures are not present to test as grounding points for trucks.

Bonding devices which monitor the bonding connections of equipment like portable pumps and compressors to grounded trucks.
